  • Etsy Currency Conversion Fee: When 2.5% Applies

Etsy charges 2.5% of the sale amount when the currency a listing is priced in differs from the currency of your payment account. If both match, no conversion fee applies. On a 35.00 USD sale paid into a GBP account the fee is about 0.88 USD.

  • Etsy Fees by Country 2026: Rates Side by Side

Etsy's listing fee ($0.20 USD), transaction fee (6.5%), Offsite Ads fee (15% or 12%, capped at $100 USD) and currency conversion fee (2.5%) are the same everywhere; payment processing and the regulatory operating fee vary by country. Rates below were read from Etsy's own pages on 25 October 2026.

  • Etsy Free Shipping Break-Even: What It Costs You

Etsy charges its transaction and processing fees on the shipping you charge as well as on the item price, so each $1 of shipping costs 9.5 cents in fees for a US shop. Offering free shipping without raising the price loses the postage; folding the shipping into the price leaves the fees unchanged.

  • Etsy Offsite Ads Fee Explained With an Example

Etsy charges 15% of the order total on Offsite Ads orders for shops under $10,000 USD in the prior 365 days and 12% once a shop reaches that amount, never more than $100 USD per order, when a buyer clicks an ad and orders within 30 days. A $35 order pays $5.25 at 15%.

  • Etsy Payment Reserve Is Not a Fee: How to Tell

A fee is money Etsy keeps. A reserve or hold is your money that is paid out later, so it makes a deposit look smaller for a while but does not reduce your profit. Treat the two separately when you work out margins and when you reconcile a deposit.

  • VAT on Etsy Fees: UK, EU, Australia, New Zealand

Etsy quotes its fees without VAT and adds VAT or GST where required. In the UK, the EU excluding Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and several other countries, a VAT ID on your account means you are not charged and receive an invoice; without one, VAT is charged to your balance. Ireland and South Africa are charged regardless.

  • How to Read Your Etsy Monthly Statement CSV

Download the monthly statement in Shop Manager under Finances, then read it by row type: sales, fees, shipping labels, refunds and deposits. In files sellers share, Net equals Amount plus Fees and Taxes on every row, which gives you a simple check. Column names and row titles can differ, so verify against your own file.

  • Why Is My Etsy Deposit Lower Than My Sales?

An Etsy deposit is lower than your sales because Etsy deducts its fees and taxes first, because charges such as shipping labels come out of the same account, and because sales that are not yet available are left out. A worked example below reconciles a $350 month to a $251.70 deposit.

Which Etsy tool should I use first?

Start with the Etsy fee calculator if you want to know what a single order costs you in fees. It takes the item price, the shipping you charge and an optional gift wrap amount, and lists the listing fee, transaction fee, payment processing fee, Offsite Ads fee, regulatory operating fee and VAT on fees for your country, in your currency. Move on to the profit calculator when you want to include materials, labour, packaging, postage and ads, so that the answer is profit instead of what is left after fees.

If you are setting prices, the margin calculator works backwards from the margin you want to the price that delivers it with fees included. If a sale arrived through an Etsy ad shown off Etsy, the Offsite Ads calculator shows the 15% and 12% fee and the $100 cap on that order. UK, Irish and other VAT or GST sellers can use the VAT on fees calculator to see what the tax adds and what a VAT ID on file changes.

How the rates are kept honest

Every tool reads the same fee table, so a change is made once. Each rate carries the page it came from and the date it was checked, and the date is printed under every result. Where Etsy publishes no figure, for example national VAT percentages, the rate is a standard national rate and is labelled as such. Where Etsy states a fee in US dollars, such as the $0.20 listing fee and the $100 Offsite Ads cap, the amount is shown in your currency at an approximate rate and flagged. The calculators never see your numbers: the maths runs in your browser.
